Unloved(2001)

Unloved is a Japanese drama about Mitsuko, a thirty-something secretary content with her modest, unambitious life. When she begins an affair with Eiji, a wealthy and newly divorced businessman, his attempts to reshape her values and lifestyle push her away. She soon finds connection with a young neighbor who shares her laid-back outlook, but he becomes captivated by Eiji's power and status. Caught between two men with conflicting desires, Mitsuko faces a love triangle where someone is destined to be left behind. The film explores how ambition, attraction, and personal values collide in relationships, questioning whether compatibility can survive when desires fundamentally diverge.
