Burn(1989)

Burn follows Vasily Derzhakov, a skilled worker navigating a world where moral compromise is routine. When Anna's mistress persuades him to hide stolen goods, Vasily crosses a line and becomes complicit in crime. His arrest and time in pre-trial detention force a reckoning. Released from prison, Vasily faces a stark choice: continue down a path of moral decay or heed life's hard warning. The film examines how everyday corruption and double standards corrode both character and consequence, trapping ordinary people in cycles of criminality they might escape if they chose differently.
