Erkan & Stefan(2000)

Erkan & Stefan is a German comedy film following two bumbling Munich bodyguards tasked with protecting a young woman who's accidentally carrying an audiocassette containing the final moments of deceased politician Uwe Barschel. The tape holds answers to a decades-old mystery surrounding his death. When both the CIA and BND learn that editor Eckernförde's daughter Nina has the recording, they assign Erkan and Stefan to guard her during her trip to visit her paralyzed mother in a sanatorium—secretly hoping the two will fail so the intelligence agencies can seize the tape. What neither organization anticipates is that the well-meaning but hapless duo prove far more resourceful and street-smart than expected. As competing forces close in, Erkan and Stefan must outwit spies and bureaucrats to keep Nina and the explosive evidence safe.
