Stateless Things(2012)
Stateless Things interweaves the stories of two young men trapped in radically different circumstances. One is an undocumented North Korean immigrant working dead-end jobs, scraping by on society's margins. The other is the kept lover of a married businessman, confined to a luxury apartment despite material comfort. Both navigate invisible cages—one defined by legal precarity and economic desperation, the other by emotional dependence and gilded isolation. The film explores how constraint takes different forms, examining the quiet desperation that binds these parallel lives. Through their separate journeys, Stateless Things reveals the hidden costs of survival and belonging in a world that offers neither man genuine freedom.
