Hero on Call(2019)

Hero on Call is a Russian drama series following Ivan Lutoshin, a neurologist facing a terminal diagnosis. With six months to live from an inoperable brain tumor, Ivan attempts suicide on a busy expressway—only to be saved by police operative Tumanov. Rather than let Ivan slip away, Tumanov makes him an unconventional offer: join him on dangerous undercover operations hunting criminals. If death comes for Ivan anyway, at least it will serve a purpose. The series explores what happens when a man with nothing left to lose becomes an unlikely asset in the fight against organized crime, blending dark humor with genuine stakes as Ivan discovers unexpected reasons to live.
