The World Ends with You: The Animation follows Neku, a teenager who wakes up in Shibuya's crowded Scramble Crossing with no memory of his arrival. He soon discovers he's trapped in the Underground, a shadowy alternate dimension where the mysterious Reapers' Game determines who survives and who doesn't. Forced into this deadly competition, Neku must team up with Shiki, a fellow player, to navigate impossible challenges and uncover the truth behind his sudden disappearance. As the pair battle through surreal obstacles and face off against other players, they begin to question the rules of the game itself. Blending supernatural mystery with urban fantasy, the series explores themes of connection, redemption, and what it truly means to be alive.
