Detention is a Taiwanese horror series set during the martial law era of the 1960s, when authorities arrested teachers and students at Cui Hua High School for possessing banned books. A female student's mysterious death sparked ghost stories across campus. Thirty years later, the school's oppressive culture persists unchanged. When a new transfer student arrives, she begins uncovering the dark secrets buried beneath decades of silence and supernatural occurrences. The series blends historical tragedy with supernatural mystery, exploring themes of censorship, trauma, and the lingering consequences of authoritarian control on a generation of students.
