The Trials of Rosie O'Neill(1990)
The Trials of Rosie O'Neill is an American legal drama that aired on CBS from 1990 to 1992. Sharon Gless stars as Fiona Rose "Rosie" O'Neill, a Los Angeles public defender rebuilding her life after a bitter divorce. Her ex-husband, a lawyer, took the law practice, the Mercedes, and the dog—leaving Rosie angry but determined. Each episode opens with Rosie in therapy, unpacking the cases and personal struggles that define her days. The show marked Gless's return to series television following her Emmy-winning work on Cagney & Lacey and reunited her with producer Barney Rosenzweig, whom she married in 1991. The cast included Dorian Harewood, Ron Rifkin, Georgann Johnson, Lisa Rieffel, and Robert Wagner, with Ed Asner and David Rasche joining in season two. Despite strong writing and production, the series failed to build a sustained audience and was canceled after two seasons.
