Kabuki-Mono Keiji(2015)

Kabuki-Mono Keiji is a historical drama set in early Edo Japan, following the aftermath of the Battle of Sekigahara. When the Uesugi clan's vast holdings are slashed from 1.2 million to 300,000 koku, many abandon Yonezawa in despair. Maeda Keiji, a legendary general now in his sixties, chooses to stay. He lives humbly in a remote hut, spending his days drinking, writing poetry, and practicing calligraphy—a far cry from the warrior his reputation suggests. His son Shinkuro views this lifestyle as shameful decline. Yet when crisis demands action, Keiji rises to meet it, willing to sacrifice everything to protect the Uesugi. Through his father's unconventional wisdom and quiet courage, Shinkuro gradually discovers a deeper understanding of honor and purpose beyond the battlefield.
