That Was The Week That Was(1962)
That Was the Week That Was is a satirical comedy series that aired on BBC Television in 1962 and 1963, devised and directed by Ned Sherrin and presented by David Frost. The show became a landmark of Britain's early-1960s satire boom, breaking new ground by lampooning the establishment and political figures with sharp wit and irreverence. Its broadcast coincided with the scandal-ridden Profumo affair, making politicians fair game for on-air ridicule. The series proved influential enough to inspire an American adaptation on NBC from 1964 to 1965, also featuring Frost. TW3 fundamentally changed what British television comedy could be, moving beyond safe entertainment into topical, biting social commentary that challenged power and convention.
