Militiaman from Rublyovka is a Russian series set in 1994 Moscow. Volodya Yakovlev, a newly graduated militia officer, is posted to the wealthy Rublyovka district, where he partners with the eccentric investigator Gudkova. Together they tackle a series of absurd cases: tracking down a gang bootlegging sequels to cult action films, recovering a suitcase of fraudulent MMM investment tickets, and navigating the murky underworld of post-Soviet crime. Yakovlev's brother, working in the security services, becomes an unlikely ally. The show balances dark comedy with crime investigation, capturing the chaotic energy of 1990s Russia when organized crime, pyramid schemes, and black-market entertainment flourished. Yakovlev and Gudkova's partnership grows amid cases that blur the line between the ridiculous and the dangerous.
