Hearts of Citizens is a biographical series following Qi Junzao, a legendary politician, writer, and calligrapher across five decades of his life. Set during the late Qing dynasty, the drama chronicles his political struggles as he served three successive emperors, navigating treacherous court intrigue and moral dilemmas. Junzao faces impossible choices—executing a trusted ally caught in corruption to uphold justice, while protecting an innocent friend caught in the crossfire of endless factional warfare. The series explores themes of loyalty, integrity, and the personal cost of principled leadership during one of China's most turbulent historical periods.
