One by One(1984)

One by One is a British television series that aired on the BBC from 1984 to 1987. Created by Anthony Read, the show follows the career of international veterinarian David Taylor as he cares for exotic animals at British zoos across three decades, from the 1950s through the 1970s. Each series spans a different era, with filming taking place at Dudley Zoo, Chester Zoo, and Knowsley Safari Park. Rob Heyland stars as Turner, alongside James Ellis, Sonia Graham, Peter Gilmore, Heather James, Catherine Schell, Peter Jeffrey, Andrew Robertson, and Christina Nagy. Thirty-two episodes chronicle Taylor's work with wildlife and the challenges of animal care during a transformative period in British zoo history.
