Orange Roughies(2006)

Orange Roughies is a New Zealand series following four members of an elite Auckland taskforce that blends police and customs operations. Detective Sergeant Danny Wilder, Senior Customs Officer Jane Durant, Detective Constable Zach Wiki, and Noel Bullerton form a unit under constant pressure from their commander Ron Maddock, who reminds them they're underfunded, under-resourced, and perpetually under scrutiny. As an experimental force, the Roughies must deliver exceptional results to survive budget cuts and potential shutdown. The team navigates high-stakes investigations while fighting bureaucratic constraints and the threat of disbandment, balancing their ambitions against institutional limitations.
