Con Stars(2022)

Con Stars is a Russian comedy series about a remote prison facing an international inspection. The warden, General Hobotov, devises an audacious scheme: replace the actual inmates with actors hired to pose as content, model prisoners. The plan spirals into chaos when real convicts remain hidden in the facility and guards scramble to conceal an illegal diamond mining operation they've been running with the convicts. As inspectors arrive to assess living conditions and inmate welfare, the prison descends into farce. Hobotov must juggle his fake prisoners, genuine criminals, and corrupt staff while maintaining the illusion of a model facility. The series balances dark humor with the absurdity of institutional deception, exploring what happens when a cover-up collides with reality.
