Lifeline(2013)

Lifeline is a Portuguese drama series that splits its focus between two worlds of medicine and care. At Santa Catarina Hospital in Lisbon, surgeon Alice is forced to work alongside her ex-husband David, an anaesthesiologist newly joining the surgical team. Their fraught reunion becomes more complicated when Vicente, an internal medicine doctor at the same hospital, begins an affair with Alice—threatening his marriage to Simone, a veterinarian at the city zoo, and putting his custody of their children at risk. While the hospital staff battles daily to save lives, Simone and her colleagues at the zoo face their own high-stakes challenges preserving wildlife. The series weaves together the professional pressures and personal dramas of doctors, vets, biologists and zookeepers, all fighting to protect life in their own ways.
