First On The Rope(1999)

First on the Rope is a French series set in 1930s Chamonix, where wealthy tourists flock to the Alps seeking mountaineering thrills. When Joseph Servettaz, a legendary guide, dies in a climbing accident, his son Zian inherits both his profession and the weight of family tragedy. Zian marries Bianca, daughter of a Milanese industrialist whose wealth is entangled with his father's death. Their love story unfolds against the mountain's demands—Bianca endures the anxiety of Zian's dangerous expeditions while he struggles between domesticity in Italy and his calling to the peaks. When Zian falls into a crevasse during a climb, Bianca's premonition draws her back to Chamonix.
