The League of Gentlemen is a British sitcom that aired on BBC Two across three series from 1999 to 2002. Set in the fictional Northern England town of Royston Vasey, the show explores the darkly comic lives of dozens of bizarre residents, most played by writers Mark Gatiss, Steve Pemberton, and Reece Shearsmith. The trio, alongside Jeremy Dyson, formed the comedy troupe in 1995 and brought their grotesque characters to life with a blend of horror and absurdist humour. The show's cult following spawned a feature film in 2005 and a three-part revival miniseries in December 2017 to mark the group's 20th anniversary.
