Followers is a Russian drama series about a couple's desperate search for salvation. Vera struggles with infertility and convinces her skeptical husband Andrey to visit a remote hermitage run by the enigmatic healer Father Athanasius. When Vera becomes pregnant, they believe a miracle has occurred. But their joy turns dark as they gradually realize they've been drawn into a destructive cult's web of manipulation and control. Andrey must fight to protect his wife and unborn child from the group's sinister influence before it's too late. The series explores themes of faith, desperation, and the dangerous allure of false hope.
