Rock and Peking Opera is a Chinese series that follows Xiang Yuxin, heir to a prestigious Peking Opera dynasty, as his college rock band moves into his grandfather's historic theater to train for a music competition. Immersed in the opera house's world, the musicians find themselves captivated by centuries of tradition and artistry. As the venue prepares for an international cultural festival, Xiang Yuxin faces an internal reckoning: honor his family's operatic legacy or pursue his true passion for rock music. The series blends contemporary youth culture with classical Chinese performance, exploring themes of identity, tradition, and artistic authenticity through the collision of two musical worlds.
