Painkiller is a series about a Balkan mother and daughter navigating chronic illness and unconventional care. Dijana, a retired cleaner, suffers from persistent pain that the medical system cannot address. Her daughter Andrea, an artist living at home, takes matters into her own hands, devising an unorthodox treatment plan. What begins as a desperate attempt to help her mother becomes a darkly comedic exploration of family bonds, cultural identity, and the lengths we go to protect those we love. The series balances tender moments with surprising humor as Andrea's creative solutions challenge both Dijana's expectations and the viewer's assumptions about healing and motherhood.
