Meie aasta Iraanis is a documentary series following a family with twin boys as they travel the globe seeking to live as locals in extraordinary communities. The family has previously survived in a Siberian ecovillage led by religious leader Vissarion, established a yurt settlement in China, and forged unexpected friendships in Australia. Now they face their greatest challenge yet: integrating into a Muslim community in Iran. The series captures their attempts to adapt to radically different cultures, belief systems, and ways of life. Through intimate observation, it explores what happens when outsiders genuinely try to understand and belong within communities vastly different from their own. Meie aasta Iraanis balances cultural curiosity with the raw complications of cross-cultural living, revealing both the beauty and friction of stepping outside one's comfort zone.
