Hi-de-Hi! is a British sitcom that follows the staff and entertainers at Maplins, a fictional holiday camp in 1959 and 1960. Created by Jimmy Perry and David Croft—the writers behind Dad's Army—the series captures the daily chaos of camp management and struggling performers trying to make their mark. The show aired on the BBC from 1980 to 1988 and drew inspiration from Perry's real experience as a Redcoat at Butlin's holiday camp after leaving the army.
