Happy Christmas is a Dutch family drama that follows ten-year-old Lucas as his world collapses overnight. While searching for his Sinterklaas gift, he discovers a box of unpaid bills that reveals his father's financial ruin. The family loses their wealthy home and luxurious lifestyle, forced to relocate to a cramped office building alongside other struggling families. As his parents struggle with their new reality and his siblings Emma and Thomas resist the dramatic change, Lucas becomes the emotional anchor of the household. Determined to salvage the holiday season, he pursues a seemingly impossible goal: creating a meaningful Christmas for his fractured family. The film explores resilience, family bonds, and childhood perspective in the face of economic hardship.
