Take Me to Your Comedy Club is a four-part documentary series that explores national character through stand-up comedy. Comedian Serine Ayari travels to Germany, Lebanon, Denmark, and Japan—each chosen to reveal something distinct about how people laugh and what they find funny. What makes a nation tick? What are its taboos? Can its people laugh at themselves? Ayari visits each country's capital comedy club, performing her own material while guided through meaningful locations and conversations with locals. By examining humor—who tells it, who's the target, what's off-limits—the series uncovers truths about culture, values, and identity that conventional travel can't reach. Comedy becomes a mirror held up to the soul of each place.
