Icons(2002)

Icons was a documentary series on G4 that began by exploring influential figures, companies, and milestones in video game history. The show was relaunched in June 2006 with a dramatically broader focus, shifting to pop culture personalities and products aimed at men aged 18–34. The revamped format featured episodes on J.J. Abrams, Marc Ecko, The Onion, and Family Guy, moving away from its gaming roots. The network had hinted at this direction through late-stage episodes covering George A. Romero, Frank Miller, and King Kong. Icons was cancelled shortly after the relaunch. The original gaming content continued airing sporadically under the new title Game Makers until 2008.
