Freedom Fighter, Lee Hoe-young is a 2010 South Korean historical drama that chronicles the life of independence activist Lee Hoe-yeong during Japan's colonial occupation. Starring Jung Dong-hwan, Ahn Jae-mo, Lee Ah-yi, Hong Il-kwon and Kwon Oh-joong, the five-episode series aired on KBS1 in late August 2010 to mark the centenary of Korea's forced annexation by Japan. The drama premiered on August 29, exactly one hundred years after the annexation treaty was signed. Each episode aired on weekend evenings, delivering an intimate portrait of Hoe-yeong's resistance efforts and personal sacrifices during a turbulent period in Korean history. The series concluded with a documentary segment featuring interviews with his surviving sons, Lee Kyu-chang and Lee Kyu-dong, grounding the narrative in historical testimony and family legacy.
