Albert & Herbert(1974)

Albert & Herbert is a Swedish comedy series that aired intermittently between 1974 and 1982, adapted from the British sitcom Steptoe and Son. The show follows a father-and-son pair of scrap dealers navigating life together in a ramshackle house on Skolgatan 15 in Gothenburg's Haga district. Sten-Åke Cederhök stars as Albert, with Tomas von Brömssen taking the role of Herbert after the first six episodes, when Lennart Lundh departed. The series spawned an advent special, a stage play called Mordet på Skolgatan 15, and a spin-off series in 1995. Albert & Herbert captures the same working-class humor and domestic friction that made the British original a hit, translating the formula to a distinctly Swedish setting.
