Graveyard Kitaro(2008)

Graveyard Kitaro is a supernatural series set in 1960s Japan that follows Mizuki, an ordinary office worker who becomes the reluctant guardian of Kitaro, a boy caught between the worlds of the living and the dead. As Kitaro grapples with human nature and society, ancient yokai—spirits dormant for centuries—begin to awaken and emerge into the modern world. The series blends folklore with post-war Japanese life, exploring the collision between traditional supernatural forces and contemporary urban existence. Mizuki must navigate his new responsibility while mysterious and often malevolent creatures test the boundaries between both realms, creating tension between the mundane and the otherworldly.
