Great Expectations(1989)

Great Expectations is a drama series following orphan Pip as he learns from lawyer Mr Jaggers that a mysterious benefactor intends to transform him into a gentleman. Reunited with his childhood patron Miss Havisham and his first love Estella, Pip uncovers a darker truth: the elderly spinster has descended into madness after being abandoned at the altar decades earlier, and has deliberately shaped Estella into an emotionally cold heartbreaker as revenge against the world. As Pip pursues his ambitions and romantic desires, he must navigate the consequences of Miss Havisham's bitterness and confront what it truly means to become a gentleman.
