We Are Angels(1997)

We Are Angels is a comedy series following two escaped prisoners from a brutal Latin American maximum security facility. When Bob and Joe flee during a revolutionary attack, they pose as friars and seek shelter at a remote mission where monks and indigenous people live peacefully together. Assuming the identities of Father Orso and Father Zaccaria, the con artists must navigate their new lives among the devout community while concealing their criminal past. As they adapt to monastic routines and win over the locals with unexpected charm, the fugitives face mounting pressure to maintain their disguise.
