Cabocla(2004)

Cabocla is a Brazilian period drama set in 1918 during the First Republic. Luís Jerônimo, a wealthy and dissolute young man, learns he has a lung injury and risks developing tuberculosis. On his doctor's advice, he travels to his cousin's farm in the remote town of Vila da Mata in Espírito Santo, hoping the countryside air will restore his health. There he encounters a world far removed from his privileged life in the city—one that will challenge his assumptions and transform him in unexpected ways. The series explores themes of redemption, social class, and personal awakening against the backdrop of rural Brazil in the early twentieth century.
