Arctic Air(2012)

Arctic Air follows a scrappy airline operation based in Yellowknife, Northwest Territories, run by three unconventional partners: Mel Ivarson, a grizzled bush pilot; his daughter Krista; and Bobby Martin, son of Mel's late business partner. The series balances tense interpersonal drama between the trio with high-stakes flying missions across Canada's remote north. Each episode features dangerous aerial rescues and cargo runs flown in aging Douglas DC-3s and de Havilland Otters, aircraft that demand constant improvisation and grit. Arctic Air captures the gritty reality of small-town aviation where personal conflicts collide with the demands of keeping an underfunded operation airborne. The Canadian drama ran for five seasons before cancellation in 2014.
