Rescue Me follows Tommy Gavin, a New York City firefighter haunted by the trauma of 9/11 and the loss of his cousin Jimmy Keefe. Recently separated from his wife and children, Tommy spirals through grief and rage while battling addiction and recurring nightmares of his fallen comrades. Alongside veteran firefighters Lou Shea, Franco Rivera, and Sean Garrity, and rookie Mike Lombardi, Tommy fights to hold onto his identity as a FDNY firefighter even as alcohol and drugs threaten to consume him. The series explores the psychological toll of tragedy on those who answered the call, capturing both the brotherhood forged in the firehouse and the personal devastation that lingers long after the smoke clears.
