Ladoga(2014)

Ladoga is a Russian war drama set during the brutal Siege of Leningrad in winter 1941. With the city cut off by Nazi forces, the only lifeline is the frozen Lake Ladoga—a perilous supply route known as the "Road of Life." Trucks must traverse the ice to bring food and ammunition to starving civilians and soldiers. When German saboteurs threaten to destroy the operation, suspicion falls on a truck driver working the route. NKVD Captain Sergienko is tasked with rooting out the informant before the Nazis can strike. The film balances survival against paranoia, following Sergienko as he navigates both enemy threats and the moral ambiguities of wartime espionage.
