Tree in the River is a romantic series following Chu Zhi He, an earnest and principled young woman, and Wang Da Shu, a rigid and steadfast man whose personality is as immovable as an oak. As they navigate their differences, both characters learn to bend and grow through love. The show uses animal behavior as a lens for human nature, drawing parallels between unlikely animal pairs—like giraffes and squirrels—and its two mismatched leads.
