Castella(2013)

Castella is a Japanese drama series following Masashi, a fifth-grade student whose world shifts unexpectedly. Living in a large Nagasaki house with his timber broker father Masato, mother Kiyoko, and three siblings, Masashi eagerly anticipates his first home birthday party. His parents grant the wish, knowing it will be their last celebration in the house. The party becomes bittersweet when Masato reveals the family's financial collapse that same evening, forcing them to relocate. Adapted from Masashi Sada's novel, Castella captures a pivotal moment in childhood—the loss of stability and home told through the eyes of a boy on the cusp of understanding life's harsh realities.
