Dramatical Murder is an anime series set on Midorijima, a remote Japanese island where turf wars and virtual reality gaming dominate daily life. Aoba lives quietly with his grandmother, working at a junk shop and staying clear of the island's two main obsessions: the brutal street competition called Libstease and the immersive online game Rhyme. His peaceful existence shatters when he's forced into a Rhyme battle, pulling him into a dangerous world he never sought. As Aoba becomes entangled in the island's underground scene, he uncovers dark secrets lurking beneath the surface of both the virtual and physical conflicts that define Midorijima.
