LateLine is an American sitcom that aired on NBC for one season, from March 1998 to March 1999. Created by John Markus and Al Franken, the show takes viewers behind the scenes of a fictional late-night news broadcast inspired by ABC's Nightline. The series mines comedy from the chaos of television production, with satirical storylines tackling real political events like Watergate and Deep Throat. Episodes feature cameos from prominent politicians, adding authenticity to the newsroom setting. The show was cancelled abruptly, leaving seven episodes unaired. All nineteen episodes were later released on DVD by Paramount in 2004.
