Mail Call is a History Channel series hosted by retired Marine Corps Staff Sergeant R. Lee Ermey. The show ran from 2002 to 2009, debuting as part of the network's "Fighting Fridays" lineup. Each episode features Ermey answering viewer questions about weapons and military equipment across all U.S. branches and historical armed forces worldwide. He combines on-location demonstrations at military training grounds with studio segments filmed against a military outpost set, complete with a tent, Jeep, and rotating gear. Ermey's drill instructor persona—reminiscent of his Full Metal Jacket role—drives the comedy, whether he's subjecting viewers to verbal abuse or testing weapons on watermelons and paint cans. Occasional appearances by "Mini-Lee," an action figure in Ermey's likeness, add absurdist humor. A bulldog often joins him on set, symbolizing the Marine Corps tradition. Most episodes run 30 minutes, though later seasons expanded to 60 minutes.
