McEnroe(2004)

McEnroe was a short-lived talk show on CNBC hosted by tennis legend John McEnroe. Airing from July through December 2004, the show featured sidekick John Fugelsang and aired Monday through Thursday from CNBC's New Jersey studio. McEnroe's wife, Patty Smyth, performed the theme song. Despite efforts to salvage the program—including bringing in executive producer Woody Fraser to reshape the format and having McEnroe adopt a more formal on-air appearance—the show struggled from its debut. It garnered a Nielsen rating of 0.0 in August 2004, prompting CNBC to cancel it after just five months. McEnroe chose to continue production for two additional weeks to provide work for the behind-the-scenes crew before the final episode aired on December 15, 2004.
