Region(2003)

Region is a Russian drama series following Pavel Kravtsov, an unusually conscientious police officer who apologizes while making arrests and worries about causing discomfort to suspects. His scrupulous nature and honesty make him ill-suited for advancement in the city force, so he's reassigned as a district officer to the remote village of Anisovka. There, Kravtsov must navigate the complexities of small-town policing, where his idealistic approach collides with the realities of rural life. The series explores how a principled man adapts to isolation and the moral compromises demanded by his new posting, blending character study with the tensions of provincial law enforcement.
