The Breaking Point(1991)

The Breaking Point is a 1990s drama following Ching Long, a rebellious young man who defies his father by leaving Hong Kong for Taiwan. Years later, he returns to Hong Kong struggling as a manual laborer and stunt double, estranged from his disapproving father. Living with his son and younger sister, Ching Long navigates deepening family tensions while caught between two women: Chin Kiu, a Vietnamese refugee, and Sum Mun Yee, his sister's best friend. His childhood friend Ko Tin Chun, now a successful architect, watches from the sidelines as Ching Long's choices threaten to unravel his fragile relationships. The series explores themes of rebellion, redemption, and the cost of defying family expectations in a rapidly changing Hong Kong.
