Chronicle of a Blood Merchant is a South Korean drama set in a village during the post-Korean War era. Poor but kindhearted Heo Sam-gwan sells his blood to earn money and win the hand of the village's most beautiful girl, Heo Ok-ran. Years into their marriage, the couple has three children and a seemingly stable life—until rumors surface that Sam-gwan's eldest son may not be his biological child. The revelation threatens to unravel the family as Sam-gwan grapples with doubt and the fragile bonds that hold them together. The film explores themes of love, sacrifice, and the cost of survival in a struggling community rebuilding after war.
