Remigration(2011)

Remigration is a science-fiction film about a working-class family forced to reckon with the city that abandoned them. When representatives from San Francisco's Remigration Program arrive at Kaya, Helen, and Naomi's countryside cabin, they're offered a chance to return to the wealthy enclave they once called home. The city needs blue-collar workers again—infrastructure still crumbles, and the wealthy can't maintain it alone. Alongside other families, the trio tours their potential new lives in a San Francisco transformed by wealth and time. The film explores whether homecoming is possible when everything has changed, and whether trust can be rebuilt between a city and the people it discarded.
