Peace! Friendship! Chewing gum! is a Russian coming-of-age series set in 1993 Moscow. Fourteen-year-old Alex Ryabinin navigates the chaos of post-Soviet adolescence—dodging street gangs, avoiding his parents' expectations, and struggling to find his place. When he meets the spirited Zhenya, a chance encounter spirals into consequences neither could predict. Desperate to escape local hooligans, Alex steals a car belonging to a powerful criminal, an impulsive act that plunges him into the dangerous underworld of the city. Caught between his honest but struggling family and the shadowy influence of his Afghan-veteran uncle, Alex must confront forces far beyond his control. As his choices ripple outward, affecting everyone around him, the series asks whether a teenage boy can survive the collision of innocence and violence, and who he'll become in the wreckage.
