Guests From the Past is a Russian science fiction series set across two timelines. In 1982 Moscow, scientist Matvey Pyotrovsky's time machine experiment splits his apartment in half—one side remains in the eighties with him, the other materializes in 2020 with a modern family: businessman Sergey, his wife Svetlana, and their daughter Kristina. The bizarre cohabitation across four decades creates immediate chaos, as both families lose access to their respective halves. Tensions escalate when Matvey's grandson Pavel emerges from the past with a mission: to prevent a tragedy that will unfold in the present. The series weaves together period detail, domestic comedy, and science fiction mystery as two families navigate the impossible logistics of sharing one apartment separated by nearly forty years.
