Sale of the Century(1980)

Sale of the Century was an Australian game show that ran on the Nine Network from 1980 to 2001. Tony Barber hosted the program for its first decade before Glenn Ridge took over in 1991. The show featured a rotating lineup of hostesses including Victoria Nicholls, Delvene Delaney, Alyce Platt, Jo Bailey, Nicky Buckley and Karina Brown, with announcer Pete Smith providing commentary throughout most of the series. Barber had previously hosted a similarly formatted show called Temptation from 1970 to 1976. The franchise proved popular enough to be revived briefly as Temptation between 2005 and 2009, and the game show format was adapted internationally for audiences worldwide.
