August is at the Batting Cage at Night is a Japanese series following Natsuha Mai, a 17-year-old high school student who takes a summer job at her uncle's batting cage. There she encounters Ito Tomohiro, a mysterious former professional baseball player who claims he can read people's inner struggles through their batting swing. Each night, Tomohiro observes the female customers who visit the facility, using his baseball expertise to uncover and help resolve their personal worries. The series blends coming-of-age drama with an unconventional premise, exploring how sport becomes a window into the human heart.
