Twisted Strings(2022)

Twisted Strings is a seven-part Taiwanese anthology series directed by Golden Horse-nominated filmmaker Huang Xi. The HBO Asia and Catchplay production brings together two titans of Taiwan cinema: Hou Hsiao-hsien, the acclaimed director of The Assassin and The Puppetmaster, serves as executive producer, while Lee Kang-sheng, known for his three-decade collaboration with Malaysian director Tsai Ming-liang, takes a starring role. This marks Lee's first major television appearance after a career spent almost exclusively in cinema. Huang Xi writes and directs each installment, bringing his distinctive vision from films like Missing Johnny to the small screen. The series represents a significant convergence of art-house talent in prestige Asian television.
